Christian Service: |
|
Here at St. Maria Goretti we pride ourselves in giving back to the parish, community and those who are less fortunate. Our Christian Service Commission provides the leadership with many of our parish members giving of their time and talent to help out people in need. We’re involved with Food for Faith, Christmas and Easter Baskets, Style for Students for those young people who need clothing at Back To School time, Back To School supplies, Giving Tree, Thanksgiving Baskets, the Parish Nurse program and much more. The above projects are only a few of the things we do to help our fellow neighbors. Helping others is part of the fabric of this community. We always could use more people. If you would like to get involved please e-mail us or drop by the parish office.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN THE IMMIGRATION ISSUE?
“Surely you have been informed about the problem with people that are not legal in this country and what they are experiencing. At the same time there are many injustices being committed. One of those injustices is the separation of families in which the children are the major victims. For this situation, the Hispanic Ministry has organized a day of reflection over immigration and social teachings of the Church. This day of reflection will take place Saturday, February 18th from 9am -3pm at the Center for Ministry with a donation fee of $10 which includes lunch and material. This day is open to all who are interested.” If you would like to learn more about this issue and represent our parish at this workshop, please call the Parish Office for more details (684-1523). Registration deadline is Friday, February 10th. |
